Subject: Double Sided Heat Sink

Hi all,
I have a question. I'm trying to design a heat sink for a project. I want to cool two units "back to back" with the heat sink cooling both of them in the middle. I had been working under the assumption of using a plate-fin type heat sink. As I have two units needing cooling I was hoping to have a base or "plate" on both of these components so my question is: Is it possible to buy or manufacture a heat sink which has two bases sharing the same fins?
Anyone know of or seen a similar design before? Or know if there's any reason why this wouldn't be manufacturable when a single sided heat sink of the same fin dimensions would be?
