Subject: thermistor trouble

I recently read the article on this site on how to make a temperature controlled fan controller. I'm very excited about converting my computer from a jet engine to an inaudible hum so I immediatly rode out to my local Radio Shack and looked for the parts. I found the potentiometer and had them order the MOSFET but they didn't have, nor could they order, the thermistor. My subsequent visit to radioshack.com confirmed this. they don't have thermistors! I looked online elsewhere but have found only stores that charge 2x the cost of the unit for shipping or stores that don't have the correct "Ohm-age".

My question is this; where is a good place to buy electronic gizmos either online, or near Valley Forge National Park in Southeast Pennsylvania?

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

if they don't know about "thermistor", try asking for NTC. If your local store's staff is poorly trained and has to look up in the computer if they have it, he's more likely to find it that way
