Hi, I am new to cooling but i thought i could share an experience that i
had when installing a new cpu-fan.

I have a 3.2ghz intel cpu and installed a Zalman CNPS7700-Cu hoping to
reduce the noise level.
The fan-speed is 1654 rpm in Silent Mode.
The temps after was 55C idle and 71C playing HalfLife 2.

Then I removed the fan and cleaned some old Thermal Paste and applied more of the paste that came with the fan, and suddenly the temps
are good, 41C idle and 56C playing HalfLife 2.

Maybe this experience can help someone else too.
