ntc 10k temperature sensor burns up used on the heatsink fan once i turn the pot down the sensor heats up and burns through the tape. Whats wrong?

Hi,

probably you had the wrong part. 10K NTC means "10 kiloohms NTC", that is 10000 Ohms. There's no way it can burn up when applying a voltage of the kind that is typically found in PCs. Maybe you had a 10 Ohms NTC?
