I have a bit of a problem ! I got a replacement board from Fujitsu-Siemens for my pc but there is one slight problem. There is nowhere on the motherboard to connect the CPU fan.

What I was wondering is can I power the cpu fan direct from the PSU ?

If the answer is yes, what wires do I connect.

SPEC: Intel Celeron D 2.66Ghz.

Hi,

I think it's rather unlikely that your new board doesn't have CPU fan connectors. Maybe they are hidden somewhere between PCI slots, etc?

In the "Connectors" section on this site (use link on the left), you find information on how to connect your fan. One of the three wires (the yellow or white one) will not be connected, and RPM monitoring of the fan will not be possible. Apart from that, no problem. Many retailers also sell adaptors to connect 3-pin fans to 4-pin power supply plugs.

bye,
Till
