Your input would be most appreciated ...
The story so far;-
Currently I have four stock Intel 775 coolers ...
1) is small with an aluminium core, weight approx 330gm, 7-blade fan runs at approx 2,400rpm
2) is large with an aluminium core, weight approx 350gm, 9-blade fan runs at approx 2,200rpm
3) is small with a copper core, weight approx 460gm, 7-blade fan runs at approx 2,400rpm
4) is large with an copper core, weight approx 480gm, 9-blade fan runs at approx 2,200rpm
Pic of all four follows ... http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h216/Ray_GTI-R/PC/AllFourIncFansb.jpg
I also see this small-looking one for the EE965 is OK up to 4.26ghz - yes, on air! But no rpm/temperature info http://images.tomshardware.com/2006/03/22/pentium_extreme_edition_965/...65_cool
Also, I can lap these stock LGA heatsinks rather sucessfully ... http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h216/Ray_GTI-R/PC/ZzcuHeadOn1a.jpg
Any help on sorting these four heatsinks into some sort of standard processor upper limit would be much appreciated.
Cheers, Ray
(Where I'm coming from ... Abit IC7-MAX3 running a 30-capper 2.8C & stock, lapped, Intel EE HSF & ShinEtsu Microsi paste - the fan is set to run at 60% through the Abit BIOS and does 1,240rpm, CPU idle temp 39C ambient temp 25C ... think "very, very quiet" |
