Building a new PC. On power up the E6300 Heatsink Fan spins for a few seconds then stops, then looks like it will spin in short bursts. I switch off for fear of cooking the CPU.
Has anyone had this problem?
Any suggestions

Go into your bios (ESC or F2 normally) and watch the temp on the system H/w monitoring page, this will give you an idea of whats happening, if it rises sharply turn your PC off straight away, if it stays low and your fan doesn't spin or is slow this is most likely due to your processor/motherboard controlling your fan to keep the noise of your PC down and wont ramp up unless under load causing it to get hot.

this also could mean that your using one of the newer pulse width modulation fans like a clock cycle it use the top of the clock pulse to turn the fan on and then shut it off in the down side of the pulse

_„¡„¢_„¡„¢_ like so up for on down for off therfor saveing power and making less noise
